Bahamas 16 Islands Wedding Invitation, Wedding No 5: Grazina Zaveckaite and Ruslanas Nekipelovas's Seaside Serenade

A garden gazebo intertwined with fuchsia and magenta orchids, pretty butterflies and a backdrop of aquamarine and sapphire sea lapping a white shore, sounds divine! For Grazina Zaveckaite and Ruslanas Nekipelovas of Edinburgh, saying I do on the heavenly shores of the Exumas was a dream come true.

 Grazina, a beauty therapist and Ruslanas, a Business Management student, are another one of the 16 lucky couples that won the 16 Islands Wedding Invitation. Upon being told of their dream wedding arrangements, Grazina said, “The anticipation of that magic moment, when the butterflies in our stomachs will make a tornado, the sound of I DO and the memories which will live for as long as we will.”

The Exumas are an archipelago of 365 cays and islands, beginning just 35 miles southeast of Nassau. It is famous for the many exquisite shades of ocean from translucent jade to deepest aquamarine. Indeed so spectacular that major stars like Johnny Depp and Faith Hill have second homes here and the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates are known to have vacationed at this paradisiac spot.

Hidden coves, bays, and harbours throughout are magnets for yachts and sport fishermen. While many visitors swim with fish or dolphins, in The Exuma’s Staniel Cay you can go one better and swim with domesticated pigs who wade out to boats for food!

Tomorrow we will join Claire Gordon and Jason Harris of Rhyl, North Wales, celebrate their nuptials in traditional Junkanoo style with their "Colour me with  love" ceremony.
